  • 1 pineapple, peel and core only
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 7 Cups distilled water


  • The pineapple should be washed thoroughly before being sliced. Using a brush, remove any debris that may be stuck in the creases. After rinsing the pineapple, pat it dry and use a paring knife to peel off the skin.
  • Prepare the ginger. 
  • Place all of the ingredients in a large pot (except maple syrup).
  • Bring water to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Place a lid over the tea and continue to simmer on low for 45-60 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat, and allow the tea to cool until safe enough to strain.
  • Strain into a pitcher or large jar, then stir in maple syrup (add more to taste if desired). Serve warm or over ice.


If using fresh turmeric use about 4 teaspoons. For powdered ginger use about ½ tsp.
