Mango Popsicles Ingredients

To prepare mango popsicles, you will need:

  • Ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • Full-fat coconut milk (use coconut cream part only)
  • Maple syrup or agave
  • Turmeric – adds color and extra nutrients

How to Make Mango Popsicles

Once you have the ingredients at hand, here’s what to do to prepare your homemade mango popsicles:

  1. Add all three ingredients to a blender. Blend them all together until the mixture is completely smooth. 
  2. Transfer the mixture to popsicle molds. Put these in the freezer for a minimum of six hours.
  3. When frozen, run the molds under hot water for a few seconds. It will then be fairly easy to pull the popsicles out.

Can I use frozen mango?

Frozen mangoes don’t have as much flavor as fresh ones, so they can change the taste of your popsicles. Additionally, they need more water to blend (which means the consistency may vary). So, it's recommended to use fresh mangoes for this mango popsicles recipe when possible. The Ataulfo variety especially works great. This is because these mangoes are incredibly sweet and have a smooth texture. 

Can I make these popsicles without any sweetener?

Absolutely. You can try to make your homemade mango popsicles without any sweetener, too. The sweetness will then depend on the ripeness of your mangoes. Tip: you can taste the mixture after blending and decide if you really want to add any sweetener. 

How to choose a ripe mango

When choosing mangoes, keep in mind: a ripe mango will have a slightly soft give when you gently press it near the stem. The skin should also have a sweet and fragrant aroma. You want to avoid mangoes with a green tinge – or those with wrinkles on the skin.

Storage Tips

If you’re looking to prep creamy mango popsicles for the summer, you can store them in the freezer for up to 2 months! Before storing, consider wrapping them individually in plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn. Alternatively, you can store them in an airtight container.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and sliced.
  • 400 ml can of full fat coconut milk - cream part only
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or agave
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend all of the ingredients together until completely smooth.
  • Transfer the mixture to popsicle molds and put in the freezer for a minimum of six hours.

Notes

Turmeric adds the bright yellow color to these popsicles. It can be omitted but they will be light yellow. 
For coconut cream - put the can in the fridge for a few of hours. 
Makes 6-8 popsicles depending on type of molds you choose.
